LAW ENFORCEMENT GRANT
Monroe College understands how important it is for law enforcement professionals to complete their degrees to advance their careers. That is why we have created the Law Enforcement Grant to make it more affordable to receive a high quality, flexible and customized program. Law Enforcement Grants are available to individuals who enroll either part-time or full-time in an Associate, Bachelor or Master degree program and are currently employed in a position that has arresting powers. For the Associate or Bachelor’s program, this grant is for $750 per semester for full-time students. For part-time students the grant is $375 per semester. Over three semesters, a typical academic year for Monroe students, the Law Enforcement Grant can save a student $2,250 in tuition expenses. For the Master’s program, this grant is for $1,500 per semester for full-time students. For part time students, the grant is $500 per class. Over three semesters, the graduate Law Enforcement Grant can save a student $4,500. Monroe College has campuses in the Bronx and New Rochelle that are easily accessible by public transportation. Students can also take their degree completely online in the only fully online Bachelor’s Degree Program in Criminal Justice approved by New York State. By attending three semesters per year, qualified students can complete their degree program much faster than attending an institution that offers the traditional two semesters per year. Students may receive credit for courses taken at the Police Academy and are eligible for up to 12 credits for life experience. The College also grants credits for advance training including Homicide and Sex Crimes courses as well as Basic, Advanced and Command Leadership courses. Credit for military service is also available. Due to Monroe College’s generous transfer policies, students with transfer college credits may complete their degrees expeditiously.
